UARFCN

The UTRA Absolute Radio Frequency Channel Number, UARFCN short, is a whole number which is calculated from the transmission frequency of a UMTS support. UTRA stands for UMTS Terrestrial Radio Access.

The main difference in GSM ARFCN is that within the UTRAN within the individual bands no fixed duplex spacing is required and therefore different UARFCN be used for uplink and downlink direction.
