Uatucarbau

Uatucarbau ( Watu - Carbau, Watucarbau, Hato Carbau, Uato Carbau, UATA Carbau, Uato Carabau, Uatocarabau, Uatucarbau, Uato - Carabau ) is a subdistrict in the district of East Timor Viqueque. Administrative center is Uatucarbau in Irabin Suco de Baixo.

Geography

The subdistrict Uatucarbau located in the extreme east of the district Viqueque and the Timor Sea. To the west it borders on the sub-district Uato -Lari, on the north by the district of Baucau and beyond the Irebere flow ( Irabere ) lies to the east of the district loud.

History

Between 1936 and 1941 the Dutch Hofman promoted manganese ore in Uatucarbau.

In the 1950s Uatucarbau belonged to the circle loud. Only later was the subdistrict part of the district Viqueque.

Administrator of the subdistrict is Joaquim Fernandes Soares (April 2012). The post will be filled by the State Government.

Economy

34% of households have coconut trees, 43 % grow cassava, 39% corn, 42 % rice, 38 % vegetables and 13% coffee.
