UCI Continental Circuits

The UCI Continental Circuits are introduced for the 2005 season from the International Cycling Union UCI Continental race series below the UCI World Tour ( up to and including 2010: UCI ProTour ) called UCI Africa Tour, UCI America Tour, UCI Asia Tour, UCI Europe Tour and UCI Oceania Tour.

May at the races in the series - depending on the Continent and the UCI category (HC = hors catégorie, 1 and 2) - ProTeam Professional Continental teams, Continental teams, as well as national, regional, club and Mixed teams participate.

The annual race calendar of the UCI Europe Tour includes the race between 15 October of the previous year and 14 October of the following year. The UCI Continental Circuits of the other calendar beginning on 1 October of the previous year and ends on September 30.

Continental Rankings

Each Continental Circuit, the UCI shall prepare an annual summary for drivers, teams and nations according to a uniform regulations. Continental Championships, World Championships and Olympic competitions Except for the actual race of the Continental Circuits for national championships, awarded, provided that these races take place each continent. The placements of drivers of a UCI ProTeam remain in the rankings except under consideration.

The points are awarded in all Continental Circuits as follows:

  • Hors Categorie: 100-3 points for the first 15 riders stages: 20 to 2 points for the first eight riders, leader's jersey: 10 points
  • Categories 1.1 and 2.1: 80-3 points for the first twelve riders, stages 16 to 2 points for the first six riders, leader's jersey: 8 points
  • Categories 1.2 and 2.2: 40 to 3 points for the first 8 riders stages: 8-2 points for the first three riders, leader's jersey: 4 points
  • Elite World Championships, Olympic Games ( road race ): 200-3 points for the first 20 riders
  • Elite World Championships, Olympic Games ( ITT ): 100-3 points for the first 15 riders
  • World Cup U23 ( road race ): 100-3 points for the first 15 riders
  • World Cup U23 ( ITT ): 20 to 3 points for the first eight drivers
  • Continental Championships elite road race 100 to 3 points for the first 15 riders
  • Elite Continental Championships, ITT: 20 to 2 points for the first eight drivers
  • For National Championships Elite and Continental Championships U23 ranking position of the national federation, the driver category and the continent between 100 and 3 points for 15 drivers and 8-2 points for three drivers will depend on the discipline awarded.

In the team competition the points scored in the respective continental ranking of the eight best driver of a UCI Professional Continental Team or UCI Continental teams are added. A team can therefore be as a rider out in various continental rankings. Teams who finish in the team time trial of UCI Road World Championships in the top twenty obtained in the Circuit in which they hitherto most points scored additional points according to the following scheme:

In the national rankings, the points scored in all continental rankings of the ten best drivers in the elite and U23 categories of a national association added. The National Federation shall be conducted solely in the continental ranking of his continent. In addition to this general national rankings there is a separate national rankings U23 under consideration alone of the ten best riders in the U23 category.
