For the representation of vector-based features of the standard Styled Layer Descriptor (SLD ) is supported.

Focus of the application is the visualization of data from different sources and work with the objects represented. Currently even less support for functions such as blending or fusing of objects and the generation of buffer zones.

Although raster data such as WMS or GeoTIFF supported by uDig, so the primary focus is on vector-based data sources. The merger of the two worlds is currently taking place by JGRASS, the Java-based offshoot of GRASS, as this was switched to the Eclipse platform and is now available as a plug -in for uDig available.
