The Udmurt language ( even older wotjakische language; self-designation удмурт кыл - udmurt alkyl ) belongs to the Permian branch of the Finno -Ugric languages and is spoken in Udmurtia in the Western Urals area of about 464,000 people, the Udmurt.

Four of the letters ( Ӝ ӝ, Ӟ ӟ, Ӥ ӥ, Ӵ ӵ ) only occur in Udmurt alphabet.
Status
Although next Udmurt Russian is the official language of the Republic of Udmurtia, a few newspapers and magazines are published in udmurtischer language; Udmurt radio and television programs are broadcast in the week for a few hours.
