Udomporn Polsak

Udomporn Polsak ( in Thai อุดม พร พล ศักดิ์, nicknamed Orn; born October 6, 1981 in Nakhon Ratchasima (Thailand) ) is a Thai weightlifter. Udomporn is the first Olympic champion from Thailand.

Career

Udomporn began at age 14 in Nakhon Ratchasima with the weight lifting. In 1997, she started with 16 years in the weight class up to 48 kg body weight for the first time at a World Cup, finishing in 6th place. At the Junior World Championships in Sofia in 1998 and 1999 in Savannah / USA it went well for them, they were each Junior World silver medalist. She remained in training diligently and soon became one of absolute world class. Your biggest achievement is winning the Olympic gold medal in 2004 in Athens in the weight category to 53 kg body weight.

Udomporn Polsak studied sports science at Bangkok University.

  • 2003 1st place, World Cup in Vancouver, to 53 kg body weight, with 222.5 kg, before Ri Song - Hui, 222.5 kg and Kuntanean Junpim, Thailand, 217.5 kg;
  • 2004, 2nd Place, AFC Asian Cup, to 53 kg, 210 kg behind Deng Jianying, China, 220 kg, and before Swe Swe Win, Myanmar, 195 kg;
