Geography
The city Uebigau located in the southwest of Brandenburg, about 25 km east of the town of Torgau Elbe, about 10 km south of the county town Herzberg and 4 km north of Bad Liebenswerda. The Schwarze Elster flows through the urban area, the Kleine Elster flows north-east of truth back into the Schwarze Elster. The largest districts form the former cities and Uebigau Wahrenbrück, which is 7 km away from each other. The trunk road B 101 passes east of Wahrenbrück and Uebigau. Geology
Near the local part Rothstein protrudes from the flat landscape out of Roth Steiner rocks. There are the exposed remains of a slab of rock, which was formed about 560 million years. Starting material is greywacke. This was silicified by deposits from hot springs.
The rocky outcroppings centuries has been mined and used as building material (Roth Steiner gravel ). Since 1915, the breakdown of the main rock is prohibited and he is a protected area.
History

Before the formation of the city Uebigau on 31 December 2001, there were a number of incorporations:

The Rothstein is the only major natural rocks in the state of Brandenburg.
