UEFA Euro 2016 qualifying
The 268 qualifying matches for the European Football Championship 2016 will take place between September 7, 2014 and 17 November 2015.
53 of 54 UEFA member associations play the 23 starting places for Euro 2016 with each other. Gibraltar takes the youngest UEFA member for the first time participated in the qualification. France is set as the host country and completes the field of 24 finalists.

Qualification mode
The qualifying groups were drawn February 23, 2014 at 12:00 CET clock in the Palais des Congrès in Nice on Sunday. The teams involved were 53 divided into nine groups: eight groups of six teams and one group of five teams. Each team carries a group each from a home and an away game against every other team in the respective group. The top two teams from each group and the best third point ( the results of the games against bottom-placed are not included in the groups of six ) qualify directly for the final tournament. The remaining eight third-placed identify in a playoff round, competing in the two teams in home and away leg against each other, the remaining four finalists.

Game day
The Schedule provides for the qualification matches the concept of Football Week ago: A Round takes place over a period of three consecutive days. In so-called double game days ( game days 2 and 3, 7 and 8, 9 and 10 and the play-off games) find the games from Thursday to Tuesday. On the double match days two games will be held, each team plays either on Thursday and Sunday, or Monday or Friday and on Saturday and Sunday. The match days were set as follows by UEFA:
