Uelvesbüll

Uelvesbüll (Danish: Ylvesbøl ) is a municipality in the district of North Friesland Schleswig -Holstein.

Geography

Uelvesbüll is a rural community that was formed from the march hooves villages Uelvesbüll and Barneckermoor. It is located about ten kilometers southwest of Husum on the peninsula eiderstedt on Heverstrom. A few kilometers east extend the federal highway 5 and the railway line from Heide to Husum. To Uelvesbüll include the Uelvesbüllkoog and part of the Adolfskoogs where northwest Nature Reserve Wester- Spätige is. It has existed since 1978 in a size of 27 hectares and is managed by the NABU. All material is abgespatet for dike construction in the 16th century.

Four Wehlen dominate the immediate landscape at Porrendeich. These are water bodies that have arisen in dike breaches in the 16th century by deep erosions. These wells were not replenished after the new dike construction. In East-West direction, the Wehlen bear the following names:

  • Sand Wehle
  • Schlupp Wehle
  • Large Wehle.

The village Uelvesbüll was a parish includes the villages of Barnekermoor, Bos - söwen, Porrendeich, Westerdeich, Norderfriedrichskoog and Schiedhörn (as of 1710).

History

Second Marcellus

Before the second Marcellus of the year 1362 of the defunct in this storm surge old place Uelvesbüll belonged to strandischen Edomsharde. Many former homes and farmland were located further north and west in today watts. The district Barneckermoor was originally a separate parish and had its own church. At this time Barneckermoor was already part of Everschop Harde. Later Barneckermoor was merged with the parish Uelvesbüll.

Due to the enlargement of Hever the new place Uelvesbüll had to be moved to the southern area. After the flood that destroyed the first church Uelvesbüll then scored for Harde Everschop.

St. Nicholas Church

Built after the flood second church had to be demolished in 1854 due to its dilapidated state. Surrounded by the Protestant cemetery of St. Nicholas Church was built within half a year in the style of a classical neo-Gothic brick - and ewerden on 6 October 1854. Because the Danish King Frederick VII granted a subsidized construction, carried the church from 1854 to 1964 the name of Frederick Church. The church building is a wood carved epitaph of 1591, which has gone down as people march epitaph in the history of art. On 3 October 1867, the congregation chose the young theologian Christian Jensen ( 1839-1900 ) as its pastor. 1873 Jensen went to Breklum and founded in 1876 the Schleswig -Holstein Evangelical Lutheran Mission Society.

In the church is the only preserved and playable pneumatic organ Eiderstedt - built in 1910 by the Apenrader organ builder Marcussen & Son.

Uelvesbüller wreck

In Sielbauarbeiten in Uelvesbüller polder it came in July 1994 to find the wreck of a plattbodigen and glattbordigen cargo glider. Municipal council

Of the nine seats in the municipal council the CDU, the SPD and the voter community WVUE since the local elections 2008 each had three seats. In the local elections on May 26, 2013, the SPD received 24.7 per cent and two seats. The CDU came with 22.5 per cent to two seats. The WVUE reached 19.5 percent also two seats. Three seats went to the new Municipal Wählergemeinschaft Uelvesbüll ( KWUe ), which reached 33.4 percent. The turnout was 77.2 percent.

In the list of cultural monuments in Uelvesbüll are registered in the list of monuments of Schleswig- Holstein cultural monuments. This includes the grave stone Margareta Hans († December 25, 1614 ) before the Haubarg Leutnantshof on Porrendeich.
