Ueno Zoo Monorail

The monorail Ueno Zoo (Japanese上野動物園 モノレール, Ueno Dobutsuen monorēru ), officially: Tōkyō-to Kotsu - kyoku Ueno kensui -sen (东京 都 交通局 上 野 悬垂 线, dt Ueno monorail line of the Municipal Tourist Office of Tokyo), also: Monorail Ueno (上野 モノレール, Ueno monorēru ) and monorail Ueno Park (上野公園 モノレール, Ueno kōen monorēru ) is a monorail in Tokyo. The operator is the office of the Tokyo Prefecture.

The railway was opened on 17 December 1957 as a test track, but is now used to transport passengers. Ajar is the construction of the Wuppertal suspension railway to the system by Eugen Langen. With a length of 310 meters and two breakpoints, the web is relatively short and does not have much importance on traffic. It connects two parts of the Ueno Zoo.

The track was made ​​of concrete and steel - finished parts. Initially, the upper surface of the chassis beams equipped with an asphalt surface, which has now been replaced by the concrete. To obtain a guide to the sides of the support guide wheels are mounted, also the mobile beam at the upper side is curved to the inside. There are also two power rails, which provide the car with 600 V DC.

The only vehicle is 19 meters long, 1.68 meters wide, 2.46 meters high and 6.5 tons. It is powered by four 7.5 kW motors, speed it up to 14 km / h.
