Uezwil (Swiss German: Üezmel, ʏətsməl ) is a municipality in the district Bremgarten in the Swiss canton of Aargau. It lies on the western edge of the Bünztal valley.

Geography

The horseshoe-shaped village is built on top of a wide, flat plateau at the northern foothills of the Lindenberg, who is here called Niesenberg. To the west, south and east the plain is bounded by gently rising hills, giving it a trough-like shape. It is drained to the north by the background stream, a tributary of the Bünz.

The area of the municipality is 245 hectares, of which 68 hectares are covered by forest and built over 15 hectares. The highest point is located on 632 meters on the eastern slope of Mount Niesen, the deepest at 520 meters at the back of Bach.

History
