Ugyen Tshering

Ugyen Tshering Lyonpo ( born August 8, 1954) is a politician from Bhutan.

Biography

Tshering increased within the reign of Druk Gyalpo ( Dragon King ) Jigme Singye Wangchuck to the Minister of Labour and Human Capital (Human Resources) of the Royal Government and was awarded for his services in 1998 with the honorary title of Dasho and 2003 entitled Lyonpo. In mid-2007 he resigned along with six other members of the government as Minister to go into politics after the democratization of King Jigme Singye Wangchuck Jigme Khesar Namgyel Wangchuck successor.

In the parliamentary elections in Bhutan in 2008 he was a candidate for the National Assembly ( Tshogdu ) and was a deputy ( Chimis ) elected in the constituency Paro. After the elections, he was appointed on 9 April 2008 by Prime Minister Jigme Thinley, Minister for Foreign Affairs in the Cabinet.
