Úherce (Louny District)

Úherce ( German Auhertz ) is a municipality in the Czech Republic. It is located 17 kilometers south-east of Louny half distance after Slany and belongs to Okres Louny.

Geography

The place is located northeast of the creek forest area Týnecký les in the valley of the Úherecký. Úherce is located north of State Road 7 between Louny and Slany. In the north of the village lies the airfield Panenský Týnec.

Neighboring towns are Telce in the northeast, and Kokovice Klobuky in the east, and Pacov Hořešovičky in the south, and Zichovec Zerotin the southwest, Panenský Týnec in the west and Vrbno nad Lesy in the northwest.

History

The first mention of Auřece done by Vratislav II, who left the village in 1088, the Vyšehrad. In 1300 Úherce got to the monastery Melnik, the village previously belonged to the possessions of the monastery Doksany. 1385 the brothers acquired the property through Žirotín Ouřece which they appropriated to the monastery in Panenský Týnec. In Úherce there was the monastery garden and the monastic fish pond.

Úherce 1577 consisted of 20 farms and to the beginning of the 18th century remained that way. After the abolition of patrimonial Úherce which was then still in the spiritual possession even after the secularization of the monastery was in 1849 into an independent municipality. 1880 lived 311 people in Úherce. The vicarage was Jungfernteinitz where children of the town until 1897 attended the parish school. In 1900 Úherce had 289 inhabitants, living in 53 houses and consistently belonged to the Czech minority. The inhabitants lived from agriculture, besides orchards dominated the cultivation of fodder beet. In 1939, the number of houses had increased to 65, in contrast, the population had remained constant at 288.

Near the village ten golden collars, two large silver-gilt brooches and two silver buckles were found. The Treasure of Auhertz located partly in the National Museum in Prague and in the Museum of the City Louny.
