Uhland is a place in Texas in Caldwell County.

The village is located about 18 km northeast of San Marcos on the border of Hays County. On the 4.7 km ² area of the municipality live 386 inhabitants ( 2000).

Uhland was born in the 90s of the 19th century around a plantation and was named after the German poet Ludwig Uhland; In 1892 a post office was opened in the town, but this was closed again in 1902. By 1950 there were half a dozen stores in the then 170 inhabitants site. In the following years, the town experienced an economic decline; 1970 lived there only 90 people. However, in the 1980s, the city recovered, the population grew until 1990 to around 370.

The dance hall built in 1893, Club 21 is the oldest continuously used in Texas.
