Uhlstaedt - Kirchhasel is a municipality in the district Saalfeld- Rudolstadt, in Thuringia.

Geography

Uhlstaedt - Kirchhasel is the geographically largest municipality in the district Saalfeld- Rudolstadt. It occupies the northeastern part of the county. In the south of the municipality lies the valley of the Saale, in the districts Catharinau, Kolkwitz, whites, Rücker village and Niederkrossen (right bank ) and Kirch hazel, Etzelbach, Uhlstaedt and Zeutsch (left bank ) are. All other districts are scattered on the Ilm -Saale- plate north of the Saale valley. The western districts bordering the city Rudolstadt and are thus more attractive than the other places in the municipality for residential and commercial spaces. The highest mountains in the municipality reach heights of up to 450 meters, while the height of the Saale valley is approximately 190 meters.

History

The small districts Kochberg and forges were 1696-1699 affected by witch hunts.

In Kuhfraß there was an estate of the von Koch mountain. It was taken over in 1825 by James Patrick Parry, the husband of Louise of stone. This was 1835-1838 deer hunting castle hill build. 1892 inherited Graf Henckel von Donnersmarck possession. In the " New House " a children's camp was set up in 1941. 1945 was the expropriation without compensation of castle and estate. The castle was nursing home and psychiatric facility, now ( 2010) there is a nursing home social work. 1994/95 still got mobile inventory was restituted to the Henckel von Donnersmarck family, which completed a loan contract with the Foundation of Weimar Classics about it. These included paintings, prints, objects of art, furniture and 39 Goethe- hand drawings.

Incorporations

The community Uhlstaedt - Kirchhasel was on 1 July 2002 by the voluntary group of thirteen previously independent municipalities. On 1 December 2007, the municipalities Großkochberg and Heilingen were incorporated, for Uhlstaedt - Kirchhasel was already fulfilling community.

Culture and sights

In the center of the hamlet Zeutsch recalls in a park near the kindergarten since 1985 a stele to the concentration camp prisoners who were driven through the town on a death march from one of the sub-camp of Buchenwald concentration camp.

Special mention deserves the Castle White Castle.

Economy and infrastructure

Uhlstaedt - Kirch hazel is a largely agricultural community. This is especially true for the northern districts. Those wise in the Saale valley partly on smaller commercial areas with different industries.

The most important road links in the municipal area are the Federal Highway 88 ( Rudolstadt -Jena ), which passes through the districts Kirchhasel, Etzelbach, Uhlstaedt and Zeutsch in the Saale valley, as well as the provincial road of Teichel in the west to Zeutsch in the east of the northern parts of municipalities. Furthermore, there are numerous county and township roads that open up all districts. Stations of the hall train there in Zeutsch and Uhlstaedt. They ensure a train link to Naumburg, Jena, Rudolstadt and Saalfeld, the next long-distance support (ICE Berlin -Munich) Saalfeld and Jena are in the south to the north.
