Újezd (Žďár nad Sázavou District)

Újezd ​​( German Aujest, also Augezd ) is a municipality in the Czech Republic. It is located eight kilometers south-west of Zdar nad Sázavou and belongs to Okres Zdar nad Sázavou.

Geography

Újezd ​​located in the Bohemian- Moravian Highlands in the valley of the brook Horni creek. The Moravian village lies east of the historic border with Bohemia. South-west rises the Blažkov ( 693 m ) east of the Na Hranicích (632 m) and in the northwest the Rosička ( 644 m). Near the village there are numerous ponds. History

The village is one of the many places named Újezd ​​whose corridors were defined by rode round in the Middle Ages. The village was founded during the colonization of the Moravian border forest by the heirs of Přibyslav of Křižanov. The first written mention of Oujezd took place in 1447, when George of Krawarn on Strážnice sold the estate to Jan Veseli of Lomnice.
