Ukraine - Forward! (Ukrainian: Україна - Вперед; Russian Украина - Вперёд! ) is a social democratic political party in Ukraine. It evolved out of the Ukrainian Social Democratic Party ( USDP ).

History

The USDP was created in 1998 as a splinter group from the United Social Democratic Party of Ukraine ( SDPU ). 13 regional organizations SDPU occurred at this time because of the privatization debate from the party and formed the USDP. The first chairman was the politician Wasilj Onopenko. In the Ukrainian government takeover of the USDP in the same year the Ministry of Justice.

2001, the party joined the Alliance Bloc Yulia Tymoshenko under the leadership of the politician of the same name. In 2006, Yevhen Kornijtschuk the Presidency, before the USDP Kiev board and Deputy Minister of Justice.

In December 2011, Natalija Korolewska was elected chairman of the USDP. She called the party in Україна вперед! order. From the block Yulia Tymoshenko, the party was expelled shortly afterwards for alleged cooperation with the government of President Yanukovych. At the parliamentary elections in 2012 the party ran a intense election campaign. Besides Korolewska former Ukrainian football player Andriy Shevchenko was the top candidate. Although Ukraine called - Forward! as an opposition party with a European and social democratic vision and joined a possible collaboration with the ruling party, the Party of Regions after the election from explicitly, critics accused the party but most still, her campaign is a deception of the government Yanukovych to withdraw as voices of the actual opposition parties. Since the party received only 1.6 % of the vote in the elections, the entry into the Verkhovna Rada was clearly missed.

Political orientation and meaning

The party sees himself in the tradition of social democracy and looked after the self-portrayal as the sole legitimate representative in Ukraine.
