Ukrainian studies

Under Ukrainian Studies ( Ukr українознавство, Research ukrajinoznavstvo translit. ) Is defined as the scientific study of the Ukrainian language and Ukrainian literature (also: Ukrainian Philology called ), and in a broader sense, the modern surroundings and cultural studies, which with the Ukrainian nation, ethnogenesis, history, geography and economy and the diaspora Ukrainians employed.

In German-speaking countries a Ukrainian Studies exists, for example at the University of Greifswald and the University of Vienna. At the University of Münster, the Ukrainian Studies can be studied as part of the Bachelor Programme Regional Studies East Central Europe.

On the Alfried Krupp Institute for Advanced Study in Greifswald place every summer an international conference Ukrainian instead, the Greifswald Ukrainicum. Since the winter semester 2009/10, there is also a two-semester additional training, which also means Ukrainicum.
