Ulf LÃ¥ngbacka

Ulf Långbacka ( b. 1957 ) is a Finnish- Swedish conductor and composer.

Långbacka was trained at the Sibelius Academy in Helsinki. He put his 1987 diploma in choral conducting from. He was director of the chamber choir Cantabile, since 1991 Music Tutor at the Åbo Akademi, Finland Swedish- Academy. He is conductor of the women's choir flora and the student choir Brahe Djäknar. Långbacka was 1993-1996 Association Conductor of the Finnish-Swedish Choral Association. He has choral works and chamber music composed, among others, promotion cantata Det inre ljuset ( The Inner Light ), written for the 80th anniversary of the Åbo Akademi. Långbacka was also a lecturer in choral conducting at the Sibelius Academy.
