The Ulfe is a 10.6 km long, orographic right or eastern tributary of the Fulda in Hersfeld -Rotenburg, Hessen, Germany.
Course
The Ulfe occurs in the eastern part of northern Hesse, a few kilometers west of the Thuringian border, two spring-fed streams. Their sources are close to the connection point " Wildeck - Hönebach " the Federal Highway 4 west of Hönebach, one located between Richelsdorfer Mountains in the north and in the south Seulingswald community part of Wildeck.
The northern source river rises in the mountains on the southern slope of the Richelsdorfer Stubbachshöhe ( 403.1 m above sea level. NN ) to approximately 330 m above sea level. NN. It flows to west -south-west of the country road "L 3251 ". The southern source stream rises on the northern edge of the Seulingswalds slightly above the natural monument "Yellow pond ", right on the " Viaduct Eichhorst " the A 4, also at about 330 m above sea level. NN. It flows northwest through the pond, passes through the western portal of the situated on the Thuringian Railway " Hönebach tunnel " and also extends to the "L 3251 ".
On this country road, the headwaters unite after every 1.5 km flow distance to around 280 m above sea level. NN to Ulfe that flows in a westerly direction between the densely wooded area of Richelsdorfer Mountains and Seulingswald about Ronshausen after Weiterode, a district of Bebra. Catchment and inflows
The catchment area of Ulfe, which extends from the mountains of Richelsdorfer Mountains and Seulingswalds up to its confluence with the Fulda, comprises 71.542 km ². Therein lies the 31 -hectare forest reserve Goldbach's and Ziebachsrück.
Among the tributaries of the Ulfe are from the north zoom fluent Steinbach and Iba, the latter is their longest tributary, as well as coming from the south Burbach, Ziebach, Goldbach, Hornbach and Breitenbach ( downriver considered ).
Traffic
Parallel to Ulfe runs the country road 3251, which connects the Federal Highway 4 at the community Wildeck the east by the municipality Ronshausen with the Fulda valley - national roads 27 ( to the southwest ) and 83 ( to the northwest ) in the small town of Bebra in the West.
