Ulrich Schnauss

Ulrich Schnauss ( born 1977 in Kiel ) is a German musician and music producer. His music is somewhere between Ambient, Electronica, Shoegazing and Indie Tronic.

Life

Schnauss, who was born in Kiel and raised, moved in 1996 to Berlin. There he published under pseudonyms such as View to the Future and Ethereal 77 different pieces of music from Ambient, Drum and Bass to electronics. Schnauss produced several publications of Frank Muller's project Beroshima and other publications on the label Müller Records.

Under the pseudonym Ethereal 77 published Schnauss 1999 the album Landscapes. 2001 appeared on the label Electronica City Centre Offices, the first under his name published, highly acclaimed debut album Far Away Trains Passing By. In 2003 he released his second album A Strangely Isolated Place, which could build on the success of the previous one.

Published in 2005 the Playstation 2 game Gran Turismo 4, which includes his title " A Million Miles Away" as a soundtrack. This title could then be downloaded freely on Ulrich Schnauss ' homepage. A part of the track " On My Own ", which appeared on the album A Strangely Isolated Place is, in a sequence ( "Under The Influence" ) of the popular television series CSI: Miami to hear. The title " Far Away Trains Passing By " accompanied a scene in the film Elizabethtown with Kirsten Dunst and Orlando Bloom. His third album called Goodbye was released in June 2007.

2012 was followed by a collaboration with Mark Peters released his first solo album in five years: A Long Way To Fall, which published Schnauss on his own label Scripted Realities.

Litigation

In October 2009, the label behind Schnauss Interscope Geffen sued because of two possibly illegally used song fragments from the titles Wherever You Are and A Strangely Isolated Place in Guns N 'Roses song Riyadh And The Bedouins.
