Ultra Stereo was developed around the year 1985 to compete with Dolby by former employees.

Ultra is an analog stereo 2/4 optical sound with the same technical data, such as Dolby Stereo, whose quality is not quite achieved.

Ultra Stereo is mainly used because of the low price in low-budget productions. According to the Internet Movie Database 834 films (mostly B-movies ), diluted in Ultra Stereo.

UltraStereo also decrypts DolbyA, Dolby SR and dts stereo optical sound tracks.

Ultra stereo systems can be retrofitted with all popular digital Filmtonsystemen.
