Brauenschnäpper ( Ficedula superciliaris )

The Brauenschnäpper ( Ficedula superciliaris ) is an Asian songbird of the family of flycatchers and is also called Weißbrauenschnäpper.

The subspecies Ficedula superciliaris superciliaris in the Western Himalayas has a white over eye stripe and white outer tail feathers, at the subspecies Ficedula superciliaris aestigma in Osthimalaya these features are weak and at the subspecies Ficedula superciliaris Cleta in the mountains of Südassam they do not exist. The bird nests at the foot of the Himalayas and winters in southern India. It searches in the dense undergrowth for insects.
