Ulungur Lake

The Ulungur Lake is located in northern Xinjiang in a circle Burultokay and is the largest lake in the north of China and the tenth-largest Trinkwassersee.

It is fed from the river Ulungur, covers a total area of ​​827 square kilometers and is located at 468 m altitude. Since 1969, a channel that feeds the lake from the Irtysh water exists.

In the northeast of the lake, there are some tourism. At the ten- kilometer-long sandy beach, there are some water sport facilities; in winter there is ice fishing.

There is a cement factory on the south west coast.
