Ümit Özat ( born October 30, 1976 in Ankara ) is a former Turkish football player who was most recently employed as a coach for the Turkish football club Manisaspor.

Playing career

Professional career

Born in Ankara in 1995 Özat moved at the age of 19 years to Gençlerbirliği Ankara and became there quickly became the darling of passionate fans. After more than 150 games and a dispute with officials of the club but he was loaned to Bursaspor.

In the 2000 /01 season Ümit Özat played 24 games for Bursaspor, before moving to Fenerbahce for around 1.1 million euros. In the next two seasons, he was appealing performances at his new club. Ümit Özat celebrated on August 16, 2000 during a friendly match against Bosnia- Herzegovina made ​​his debut with the senior national team of Turkey. Coaching career

After Ümit Özat ended his playing career, he worked since April 2009 as an assistant coach at FC 1 Cologne. Previously, he had completed the Trainer course for the A license in Turkey soon. On 21 December 2009 it was announced that Özats contract with FC Cologne 1 was dissolved.

Later, he was introduced as an assistant to Roger Lemerre at MKE Ankaragucu. In May 2010, Ümit Özat Lemerre inherited as the new head coach.

On January 26, 2012, he was head coach at Manisaspor. After a month, was dismissed with immediate effect Ümit Özat. He took his team five defeats in six games.
