Umm an Nasan

Umm Nasan (Arabic: أم النعسان Umm an -Na ʿ sān ) is a state of Bahrain to the associated island in the Gulf of Bahrain as part of the Persian Gulf.

Location

The very flat island located 4 kilometers west of the main island of Bahrain and some 25 kilometers east from the mainland of the Arabian Peninsula. It is in the north -south direction, about 5 km long and up to 4 km wide.

Infrastructure and economy

In Umm Nasan very few permanent inhabitants. The surface of the island is barren and almost without vegetation; it has desert-like character. There are still a few nomads that can graze their animals here.

Meanwhile Umm Nasan has at least insofar meaning, as the island is now the Bahrain Causeway, the only road link to the mainland of Bahrain runs.
