Uncial 056

Uncial 056 ( in the numbering of Gregory -Aland ) is a Greek Unzialhandschrift the New Testament. Using palaeography it was dated to the 10th century AD. The Code contains the complete text of the Acts, the Epistles of Paul and Catholic Letters with comments. He was on 381 parchment leaves ( 29.8 x 23.3 cm) written in one column per page, each with 40 rows.

The Greek text of this codex is a representative of the Byzantine text-type with strong Alexandrian elements in the Catholic letters ( about 20 %). Aland placed it in Category V. Uncial 0142 is probably the successor of the Code 056

The Code is kept in the Bibliothèque nationale de France in Paris as part of the fund Coislin ( Coislin Gr. 26).
