Infinity is the 15th studio album of the German pop singer Matthias Reim. It was released on January 25, 2013 in Germany by Electrola (EMI) and shortly thereafter in Austria and Switzerland.

Formation

Matthias Reim began work on the album after he had written several works for his ex-girlfriend, the pop singer Michelle and then further wanted to take care of his own career. During the recordings, he felt an immense pressure to succeed caused also by the fact that he had his comeback album released Seven Pounds in 2010, with whom he had worked after the financial crash in the 1990s and the private insolvency in 2006 back up. Work on the album took almost one and a half years, hence the title infinity.

The album includes several cover songs, with rhyme resorted particular Vorwende title of East German rock groups. How to find success on the album title of City, carat, Carousel, Michael Barakowski and Puhdys, with only the first two bands can be found on the regular edition, the other only on the deluxe edition. City to title the window an English version was published under the title Windows in the Sky on the Deluxe Edition also. Rhyme came to these songs during his tours in East Germany.

Music style

Matthias Reim sat on his first album since one and a half years, mainly due to more rock sounds. Yet of course the typical pop elements, ie keyboard and synthesizer sounds are present. However, he also tried with computer- based elements to work and put the song Stowaway even with reggae beats. For later live performances he played the more computer-based songs in rock music. The album is a rather quicker work of rhyme, but also contains the carat classics Swan King and Over seven bridges have you geh'n two ballads. The lyrics are almost exclusively on the topic of relationships and love.
