Unión Fenosa, S. A. ( UNF) was a Spanish conglomerate with its three main business areas of electricity, gas and telecommunications. Formerly listed on the IBEX -35 index, the company was acquired by Gas Natural in 2009.

The core business is the manufacture, distribution and marketing of electricity in Spain. Unión Fenosa and Gas Natural Fenosa is his successor by Endesa and Iberdrola 's third largest electricity provider in Spain. In 2008 the turnover was 7.19 billion euros. The Group is active in addition to Spain and Latin America. There were approximately 12,780 employees.

History

Unión Fenosa was created in 1982 by the merger of the Spanish utility Unión Eléctrica and Unión Eléctrica Madrileña y Fuerzas del Noroeste SA Eléctricas. In July 2008, Gas Natural Fenosa Union bought the shares of Grupo ACS.
