United Kingdom Hydrographic Office

The United Kingdom Hydrographic Office ( UKHO ) is a British authority (executive agency ), nautical, maritime and hydrography based in Taunton, Somerset ( England). In 2011, the UKHO opened a branch in Singapore.

Tasks and activities

• Provision of nautical and hydrographic information for civil and military purposes (exclusive for the Royal Navy )
• Navigational warnings over marine radio (Radio Navigational Warnings )

• Admiralty List of Lights and Fog signal ( Lists of Lights )
• Notices to Mariners ( NfS, Notices to Mariners ) (more than 1,900 warnings and 6,300 NfS in 2010 )
• Online tide bill back to the year 100, respectively, a prediction of up to 50 years in advance for 7,000 ports.
