United States Anti-Doping Agency

The United States Anti-Doping Agency, USADA also abbreviated, is a non-governmental agency based in Colorado Springs, which is to enforce compliance with the Anti -Doping Code of the World Anti-Doping Agency in the United States.

History

The United States Anti-Doping Agency began its work on 1 October 2000. It is based on a Federal Grant and contracts with the United States Olympic Committee and various other organizations. The Anti- Doping Program of the National Olympic Committee of the United States had little international credibility, so that the committee gave its powers to the new agency for various reasons. She took the tests on doping, the trial of doping sinners and the development of guidelines.

2003, the independence of the United States Anti-Doping Agency has been further strengthened. Until then, two of the nine members of the Board of Directors of the Agency by the Athlete Advisory Council and the National Governing Body were elected. Since 2003, the United States Anti-Doping Agency can choose yourself from proposals of both organizations.
