United States Wrestling Association

The United States Wrestling Association ( USWA ) is a former American Wrestling Association. It was between 1989 and 1997 and was founded by Jerry Jarrett and Jerry Lawler. Seat of Wrestling Association was Memphis, Tennessee.

History

The history of the USWA began in 1989, when the Continental Wrestling Association, World Class Wrestling Association and the American Wrestling Association with several small leagues combined, and thus the experiment was started, in addition to the World Wrestling Federation and World Championship Wrestling, a third national wrestling to establish the organization.

However, this alliance of convenience did not last long and so began the new league around the sons of the owners, Jeff Jarrett and Brian Christopher to build. However, the result was that many wrestlers this league nachkamen an obligation in the WWF and USWA left. So finally, the USWA was regarded as a farm league of the WWF, especially since they had the WWF assured by contracts that the World Wrestling Federation was allowed to bring their offspring from among the USWA.

But as well as the multiple USWA Champion Jeff Jarrett had signed with the WWF in 1993, the league was inactive and was closed in November 1997.
