Universal Short Title Catalogue

The Universal Short Title Catalogue ( USTC ) is an electronic comprehensive bibliography of all the obtained printing works that have appeared in the 15th and 16th centuries in Europe. The project is led by the Scottish University of St Andrews with the support of University College Dublin. The 2011 went online database allows you to search in various existing national bibliographies, as well as newly created catalogs. Overall, the USTC opens 355,000 titles in 1.5 million copies worldwide in more than 5,000 libraries. Available are all bibliographic details, locations and, where available, digital copies of all copies. The 2016 planned expansion of the collection period until the year 1650 will cover the first two centuries of printing and double the record to an estimated 700,000 titles.

Other important short title catalogs for early letterpress encompassed the Incunabula Short Title Catalogue of incunabula (15th century), the English Short Title Catalogue, the English-language prints from 1473 to 1800, and the Short Title Catalogue Netherlands for the Netherlands from 1540 until 1800.
