Universidad Francisco MarroquÃn
The San Francisco Marroquín University ( Spanish: Universidad Francisco Marroquín, engl. Francisco Marroquín University) is a private university, headquartered in Guatemala City, Guatemala.
History
The University was founded in 1971 by entrepreneur Manuel Ayau. It arose from the economic research institute Centro de Estudios Economico - Sociales. The University is named after the first bishop of Guatemala, Francisco Marroquín, named, of the popular education in Guatemala made in the 16th century earned and had then laid the foundations for state Universidad de San Carlos de Guatemala. The Universidad Francisco Marroquín is now regarded as the most prestigious university in Guatemala. The entrance requirements and tuition fees are very high.

Located in Zone 10 of Guatemala City University has the following faculties:

- Faculty of Economics
- Faculty of Social Sciences
- Faculty of Law
- Faculty of Education and Teacher Education
- Faculty of Medicine
- Faculty of Dentistry
- Faculty of Food Sciences
- Faculty of Psychology
There are also a number of separate institutions. Lectures, exercises and seminars are held in Spanish and English.
The university has about 3,000 full-time students. The distance learning program IDEA is used by approximately 15,000 students.
