The University Malaysia Sarawak ( UNIMAS ) ( Mal. Universiti Malaysia Sarawak, Eng. University of Malaysia, Sarawak ), Kota Samarahan in Sarawak is a state university founded in 1992 in Malaysia. It was founded as part of the government's Vision 2020.

History

The university was founded in 1992 under the program Vision 2020. It is the eighth public university in Malaysia and the first which was created under the development program. In 1993, the trial operation with 30 teachers and 118 students was taken. The first faculties were the Faculty of Social Science and the Faculty of Resource Science and Technology. From the year 1994, the number of departments has increased and the number of students rose continuously.

Organization

The full-time management of the University is headed by the Vice-Chancellor. This is overseen by a Board of Directors. The University consists of the following faculties, institutes and centers:
