University of Technology Petronas (UTP ) ( Mal. Universiti Teknologi Petronas ) in Teronoh, State of Perak, is a private technical university in Malaysia. It was founded in 1995 as the Institute of Technology Petronas, and is now a university with approximately 7,000 students. The university is Petronas, the Malaysian oil company founded in 1974, owned by the state.

History

The college was founded in April 1995 as the Institute of Technology Petronas oil company Petronas as the tertiary educational institution to offer technical courses. The trial operation started in July 1995 with 65 students. The administrative and teaching buildings were at Petronas in Bangi and the laboratories of the University Putra Malaysia and National University of Malaysia, it has been used. A year later the company moved to where the campus with the University Science Malaysia was divided. As part of the Private Higher Learning Institution Act from the university in December 1996 was expanded into a university.

Organization

The highest authority of Hochschschulleitung is the Board of Directors, which sets the basic direction of the university. The Chancellor is an honorary position and is occupied by a well-known personality.
