The University of Chester ( Chester German University ) is a public university in England with three locations in Chester and a campus in Warrington. The selection includes, in addition to the normal studies, postgraduate studies, scientific research and the field of " lifelong learning".

Chester is a member of the Association of Commonwealth Universities, the Cathedrals Group, the Association of North West Universities and Universities UK.

History

The University was founded in 1839 as Chester Diocesan Training College; the College was founded in 1921 formally incorporated the University of Liverpool. In 1963 the institution was renamed the Chester College of Education, since 1974, the academic degree of Bachelor of Arts and Bachelor of Science degree will be awarded. In 1996, the renamed University College Chester, with the additional right was to award more bachelor's, master 's and PhD title. In 2002, the inclusion of Warrington Collegiate Institute took place. The spin-off from the University of Liverpool and elevation to the independent University was 2005.
