University of Copenhagen Faculty of Life Sciences

The Royal Veterinary and Agricultural University (Danish: Kongelige veterinary og Landbohøjskole ), short KVL, was a state veterinary and agricultural university in Denmark. The KVL went back to an agricultural school in 1773, was founded in 1856 as a university and had its headquarters in Frederiksberg in Copenhagen. Last Chairman of the KVL was Erik Bonnerup.

As of 1 January 2007, the former college in the University of Copenhagen has been integrated. By 2011, it was further than Environmental Sciences (abbr. LIFE). The Faculty was merged on 1 January 2012 with the Faculty of Science for Nature and Environmental Sciences, the veterinary departments were integrated into the Faculty of Medicine.

The University ( as well as the subsequent Environmental Sciences ) led departments to food and the environment, nutrition ( Nutritional Sciences ), agricultural sciences, natural sciences, food sciences, Veterinary Pathobiology, Small Animal Science, Plant Biology, United Animal Science, Basic Animal and Veterinary medicine, ecology and forestry and landscape planning.
