University of Craiova

The University of Craiova (Romanian: Universitatea din Craiova ) is a state university in the Romanian city of Craiova with a total of 25,000 students and 2,000 academic staff.

The University of Craiova was founded in 1966. It is housed in built in 1890 in neoclassical style old Law Courts of the city and comprises a total of 16 faculties. At times, the university was known internationally by the football club FC Universitatea Craiova. Rector of the University is Prof. Dr. Ion Vladimirescu.
