The University of Hawaii at Hilo is a public university in Hilo in the State of Hawaii. With 3,457 students, it is a small site of the University of Hawaii system.
History
The university was founded in 1941 as Hawaii Vocational College (Hawaii College). Since 1970, it existed in its current form. Until the 1990s, the college was conducted together with the Hawaii Community College. Today, they are passed as two separate units.
Sports
The sports teams of the University of Hawaii are the Vulcans. The university is a member of the Pacific West Conference.
