The University of Madeira (Portuguese: Universidade da Madeira) is a university in Funchal on the island of Madeira, which belongs to Portugal. It was founded on 13 September 1988.

Some historical precursors were housed in the premises of 1599 established the Jesuit College. The oldest institution was the seminary, but a Department of Theology, there are no more today.
