University of Nice Sophia Antipolis

The University of Nice Sophia -Antipolis (French Université de Nice Sophia -Antipolis ) is a French university with multiple locations in the Alpes - Maritimes.

The history of the university dates back to the 17th century, when the Count of Savoy in Nice called a right college to life. In the 18th century, then was added in a medical college. Students of these two colleges in Nice were then collected automatically with a degree in the peerage.

From the 1930s, the higher education institutions of Nice were slammed by and by the University of Aix -Marseille, and only on 23 October 1965, from them an independent university, at that time the university Nice.

Today, this university, which is now spread over 11 major campuses around the department, nearly 26,000 students.
