The University of Oulu (Finnish: Oulu yliopisto, Latin: Universitas Ouluensis ) is a university in the Finnish city of Oulu. It was founded in 1958 and currently has about 16,500 students, and approximately 3,100 academic staff. Rector of the University is Lauri Lajunen, Professor of Inorganic Chemistry is.

The University of Oulu is divided into the following three places:

  • The main campus is located in Linnanmaa, about 5 km north of the center of Oulu
  • The Faculty of Medicine has its own campus in Kontinkangas
  • The third campus is located in Kajaani, about 185 km south-east of Oulu
