The City University of Seoul, often the University of Seoul to the English name "the University of Seoul ( UOS )" is named, is an urban university in the capital Seoul, South Korea. The campus is located in Jeonnong -dong, Dongdaemun -gu, northern Seoul.
History
The University was established in May 1918 as a Public Agricultural School Keijo (Japanese京城 公立 农业 学校;. Kor京城 公立 农业 学校) founded under Japanese rule. In June 1950, she was renamed the Agricultural University of Applied Sciences Seoul ( 서울 농업 초급 대학 ). In March 1956, she became the Agricultural University Seoul ( 서울 농업 대학 ), a 4-year university. In March 1974, it became the industry High School Seoul ( 서울 산업 대학 ) because they abolished the courses in agriculture and urban -related courses continued.
In October 1981, she was in Urban School Seoul ( 서울 시립 대학; engl Seoul City University. ) Renamed. In November 1986, she obtained the university status and in 1987 it was renamed the City University of Seoul ( 서울 시립 대학교 ). Their English name was changed in July 1997 to the University of Seoul.
