University of Tampa

The University of Tampa is a private American University in Tampa, Florida.

Founded in 1931 by Frederic Spaulding as Tampa Junior College, moved the Institution in 1933, founded by the railroad magnate Henry Bradley Plant and closed due to the world economic crisis Tampa Bay Hotel, a now historic listed building in Moorish style. 1941 was completed with a nominal annual rent of 1 shilling dollars with the city of Tampa as landlord a 99 - year lease. Today more than 5,000 students scoring University of Tampa (UT ) has experienced a period of financial difficulties during the 1990s, but that could be overcome by a large fundraising campaign and, not least thanks to the patronage of the family of John H. Sykes. In the main building of the University is now home to a museum dedicated to Henry Bradley Plant.
