University of the People

The University of the People ( UoPeople ) is a non-commercial study fee -free online university based in Pasadena, California. It was founded in January 2009 by Ashoka Fellow Shai Reshef. The University aims to provide financially disadvantaged university education. 2014 were enrolled 700 students from 142 countries. Since February 2014, it is certified as the world's first non-profit university.
