Urban Dance Squad

Urban Dance Squad (UDS, such as, urban dance troupe ') was a Dutch crossover and funk-metal band.

Band History

The five founding members later met in 1986 in Utrecht ( Netherlands), initially only for a very successful jam session of a festival to then form a band under the name of Urban Dance Squad. In 1989 they released their first album Mental Floss for the Globe, in particular, reached the singles Deeper Shade of Soul and No Kid worldwide recognition. Their second album Life 'n Perspectives Of A Genuine Crossover was published in 1991. In 1993 DJ DNA left the band, and UDS had to go on without him. Consequently, in 1994 came the massive Persona Non Grata out (Latin term for " undesirable person "). The song became a hit Demagogue in the club scene.

Published in 1996 UDS Album Planet Ultra. It was more in the direction of the early albums Mental Floss for the Globe and Life 'n Perspectives Of A Genuine Crossover. 1997 DJ DNA returned, and UDS started a small tour through Germany (Rhine cultural festival ) and the United States. In 1999, Artantica out with the old cast. In 2000, UDS parted.

2006, UDS on tour again, but without DJ DNA. They played, among others, on the Lowlands Festival in Biddinghuizen ( province of Flevoland, the Netherlands) to promote their release The Singles Collection.
