Üschqongyr ( Үшқоңыр Kazakh, Russian spelling Ушконыр, Uschkonyr ) a village with 14,294 inhabitants ( 2009) is in the northwest of the territory of Almaty in Kazakhstan. It belongs to Qarassai audany ( Karassaiski rayon ). Until the 2000s, the place was called Schamalghan ( Kazakh Шамалған ) or shame dorsal root (Russian Шамалган ), in the notation Tschemolgan previously (Russian Чемолган ).
