The USS Pearl Harbor ( LSD -52 ) is a dock landing ship of the United States Navy and is one of the Harpers Ferry - class. It was named for the naval base at Pearl Harbor, Hawaii.

History

LSD - 52 was commissioned in 1993 and established in early 1995 at Avondale Shipyard in Kiel. 13 months later, the ship was launched and was baptized. End of May 1998 was commissioned in the Pearl Harbor.

The Pearl Harbor is stationed in San Diego and will take from there regularly use trips as part of so-called Expeditionary Strike Groups. 2003 moved about the ship during Operation Iraqi Freedom, 2007, the Pearl Harbor USS Mitscher with their escorts (DDG -57) and USS Samuel B. Roberts (FFG -58), the American component of the exercises UNITAS 48-07 and Partnership of the Americas.
