Utricle

The term utricle (Latin for "little bag ", " hose " ) may refer to:

  • In medicine and zoology, a part of the vestibular system of vertebrates, including humans
  • In botany, a cover sheet ( the so-called fruit hose) with sedges, which surrounds the ovary and later the fruit

Furthermore, the utricle is prostaticus in men, the remnant of the embryonic scale Müller gangs. A similar structure with many mammals, also referred to as utricle masculinus.
